“Expert Consensus on SLCO1B1 and ApoE Gene Polymorphism Detection and Clinical Application of Statins” held in Nanchang, China.

News conference on Expert Consensus on SLCO1B1 and ApoE Gene Polymorphism Detection and Clinical Application of Statin Drugs (hereinafter referred to as the “Consensus”) was successfully held on Jun15, 2023. It was held during the 10th National Academic Conference on Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Laboratory Medicine.

This expert Consensus is the first domestic consensus on genetic testing of statins. The Consensus mentions that it is recommended to test the polymorphisms of SLCO1B1 and APOE genes before taking stains. It will help to realize the precision medicine of statins, improve the effect of lipid-regulating therapy, and reduce or avoid the occurrence of adverse drug reactions.
